Victorialand is the fourth studio album by the Scottish dream pop and ethereal wave band Cocteau Twins, released on April 14, 1986, by 4AD. The album notably features a sparser, more ambient sound, as it was recorded as a duo without bassist Simon Raymonde. The album was primarily a collaboration between vocalist Elizabeth Fraser and guitarist/producer Robin Guthrie. Richard Thomas of the band Dif Juz contributed as a guest musician, playing saxophone and tablas on some tracks. Critics and fans describe the album as ambient, ethereal, and dream pop. It stands out in the band's discography for its largely acoustic and non-percussive nature, creating a calm, atmospheric soundscape that some describe as wintery or icy.
