Deniz Tek | Detroit | Album
Released in 2013, Detroit is a solo album by Deniz Tek, the founding guitarist of the legendary Australian punk-rock band Radio Birdman. The album is a gritty, blues-infused rock tribute to the decline and heritage of his home city. Recorded in a power-trio format with Tek handling all guitars and vocals, accompanied by Ric Parnell (of Spinal Tap fame) on drums. To achieve a vintage "vacuum tube glow," the album was mixed at the analog SugarHill Studios in Houston. It was notably released in mono on vinyl and stereo on CD.
