Phase III is a landmark 1968 British post-bop jazz album by the Don Rendell / Ian Carr Quintet, celebrated for its compositional depth, rich modal textures, and "distinctively British" sound. The album features five original tracks by members of the quintet. The album was recorded at Lansdowne Studios in London in February 1967 and originally released in 1968 on the Columbia Graphophone Company label. It is the third album by the quintet and is considered a cornerstone of British modern jazz.
