Furry Lewis | Back on My Feet Again | Album
Back on My Feet Again is a classic country-blues album by Furry Lewis, originally recorded in April 1961 and released on the Prestige Bluesville label. The album captures Lewis during the early years of his career revival during the 1960s folk/blues movement. Produced by music historian Sam Charters, who is credited with rediscovering Lewis while he was working as a street sweeper in Memphis. The album is a spare, acoustic set with Lewis providing both vocals and guitar, showcasing his "rolling" finger-picking and soulful voice. It is considered one of his strongest recording efforts, featuring reworkings of his 1920s classics alongside traditional songs.
