Released in July 2014, Water Near a Bridge by the Melbourne-based psych-rock trio Krakatau is an instrumental work that leverages minimalism to achieve massive soundscapes. Eschewing traditional electric guitars entirely, the band generates highly structured, hypnotic compositions using only an organ/synthesiser, bass, and drums.
