Pylon’s second 1983 album, Chomp, is widely celebrated as a tighter, more musically accomplished classic of danceable post-punk. While their 1980 debut Gyrate thrived on raw, amateurish minimalism, Chomp brought in Chris Stamey and Gene Holder of The dB's to produce alongside engineer Mitch Easter. This collaboration gave the Athens, Georgia band a fuller, more texturally complex sound without sacrificing their signature jagged edge.
