The soundtrack for Panos Cosmatos' cult sci-fi film Beyond the Black Rainbow was composed and performed by Sinoia Caves, the solo project of Jeremy Schmidt (keyboardist for Black Mountain). Released on September 2, 2014, through the labels Jagjaguwar and Death Waltz Recording Company, the album is celebrated for its heavy use of analogue synthesizers and Mellotrons to evoke a 1980s dystopian atmosphere.
