The Las Vegas Story by The Gun Club (released June 1984 on Animal Records) is a cinematic, desert-noir masterpiece that represents the band’s high-water mark. Moving away from the raw, primitive psychobilly of their debut Fire of Love, late frontman Jeffrey Lee Pierce transformed the group's "punk-blues" roots into a more sophisticated, atmospheric, and melodic alternative rock sound.
