Avon Calling: The Bristol Compilation is a seminal post-punk and new wave compilation album released in October 1979 on Heartbeat Records. Curated by label head Simon Edwards, this 15-track showcase captured the highly fertile, DIY underground music scene exploding in and around Bristol at the tail end of the punk explosion. Decades after its release, it remains widely considered the gold standard for regional independent compilations.
