The original soundtrack to Penelope Spheeris' landmark 1980 documentary, The Decline of Western Civilization, is widely considered essential listening and an irreplaceable time capsule of the early Southern California punk and hardcore movements. Recorded between 1979 and 1980 and originally released via Slash Records, the album delivers 14 blistering tracks that capture a dangerous, lawless subculture in its rawest, most visceral form.
