Adrian Quesada | Boleros psicodélicos | Album
Regular price
Adrian Quesada’s Boleros Psicodélicos (2022) and its sequel Boleros Psicodélicos II (2025) are masterful tributes to the "balada" movement-a 1960s and 70s era where traditional Latin American ballads were electrified with psychedelic production. Quesada, best known as the co-founder of Black Pumas, crafts a sound that feels like a "smoky 60s lounge". The albums blend: romantic, sentimental lyrics and dramatic vocal deliveries. Psychedelic reverb-heavy guitars, "space-age" organs, and "ghostly" atmospheres, influenced by 1960s American soul, featuring "chunky" rhythm guitars and "downtempo" drum breaks.
