The Mummies | Never Been Caught | Album

Never Been Caught (1992) by The Mummies is widely celebrated as a gloriously ugly masterpiece of garage punk and the definitive text of the self-proclaimed "budget rock" subgenre. Released via Telstar Records right around the time the band initially broke up, it stands as their only official full-length studio record—a piece of deliberate sonic terrorism that sounds like it was tracked inside a tin can using 1940s recording gear pushed entirely into the red.
