The View From a Hill (2010), the second full-length album by English alternative-folk collective The Owl Service, is a landmark release in modern hauntological and "otherly pastoral" folk music. Masterminded by multi-instrumentalist Steven Collins, the album marks a deliberate departure from the standard "psych-folk" label of their debut, opting instead for a darker, heavier, and more cinematic reinterpretation of traditional British music.
