Pink Floyd’s seventh studio album, Obscured by Clouds (1972), is a fascinating, song-based transition piece that is frequently overshadowed by the legendary era that followed it. Originally recorded in France in just two weeks as the soundtrack for Barbet Schroeder's film La Vallée, it serves as a link between the sprawling psychedelic experimentations of Meddle (1971) and the tightly structured brilliance of The Dark Side of the Moon (1973).
