Black Sabbath "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath"

LP (NEW) - Vinyl, Sanctuary, Europe, 2015, BMGRM057LP, 5414939920820, Incl. Bonus CD, Gatefold Sleeve

Sabbath Bloody Sabbath (1973) is widely considered Black Sabbath's most adventurous and experimental work from the original Ozzy Osbourne era. Released during a period of severe writer’s block and internal burnout, it saw the band move beyond their "doom metal" roots into progressive rock territory. Many critics and fans regard this as the pinnacle of the band’s songwriting. It was the first Sabbath album to receive favourable reviews from the mainstream press, including Rolling Stone, which called it an "extraordinarily gripping affair." The album features a heavy use of synthesizers, mellotrons, and orchestration. Most notably, Rick Wakeman of Yes contributed keyboards to "Sabbra Cadabra." The opening title track is legendary for its main riff, which Tony Iommi credits with breaking his writer's block and saving the band's career.
