Salisbury is the second studio album by the English rock band Uriah Heep, released in January 1971. It is considered a quintessential progressive rock and heavy metal album, known for its blend of heavy rock riffs, classical arrangements, and the epic, 16-minute title track. This album marked a significant increase in the songwriting contributions of keyboardist Ken Hensley, who wrote half the record alone and became a primary creative force in the band. The original UK cover art featured a British Chieftain tank, a reference to the Salisbury Plain military training area.
