Distemper is the debut studio album by the Australian garage rock band The New Christs, released in August 1989. Fronted by Rob Younger (of Radio Birdman fame), the album reached #1 on the Australian Alternative Charts and is widely considered a classic of the genre. Distemper received critical acclaim and topped the Australian Alternative Charts. Reviewers noted its "dark, brooding" and "apocalyptic tone", with Trouser Press calling it a "40-minute call to emotional jihad".
