Black Angels is a landmark 1990 album by the Kronos Quartet, released by Nonesuch Records. It is centered around George Crumb’s 1970 piece of the same name—a "searing Vietnam War protest"—which was the work that originally inspired David Harrington to found the quartet in 1973. The album features five works that address historical and spiritual trauma, including composers George Crumb, Thomas Tallis, István Márta, Charles Ives, and Dmitri Shostakovich.
