Released on 24 February 1975, Physical Graffiti is widely regarded as a sprawling masterpiece and the creative "high-water mark" of Led Zeppelin's career. As the band's only studio double album, it captures them at their most ambitious, blending new recordings with unreleased material from previous sessions (specifically Led Zeppelin III, IV, and Houses of the Holy). Robert Plant has cited it as his favourite Led Zeppelin album, representing the band at its most creative and expressive. Critics highlight the album's broad stylistic range, covering hard rock, blues, folk, funk, and even Middle Eastern influences.
Led Zeppelin's 1975 release Physical Graffiti is a double album encased in a cover depicting a New York City tenement block with Die-cut windows showing the album title lettering printed on the inner sleeves.
