Released in November 1981, The Clean's Boodle Boodle Boodle is a foundational work of independent rock that permanently established the "Dunedin Sound". Recorded in just two days on a primitive 4-track machine by Chris Knox and Doug Hood, this five-track EP launched New Zealand's legendary Flying Nun Records into international cult status. It spent nearly six months on the New Zealand national singles charts, proving that raw, DIY artistry could capture the public's imagination without commercial radio support.
