Signing Off is the debut album by the British reggae band UB40, released on August 29, 1980. It was a critical and commercial success in the UK, reaching number 2 on the album charts and becoming the biggest selling independent UK LP at the time. Still considered by many fans and critics to be the band's best work, it was highly lauded upon release for its raw, political edge, a stark contrast to their later, more pop-oriented hits. It is the only UB40 album included in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.

UB40's 1980 debut album Signing Off comes in a card sleeve which was an exact replica of the UK Govt's unemployment benefit attendance card officially called the 'Unemployment Benefits Form 40' (UB40).
