Khan | Space Shanty | Album

Released in June 1972 through Deram Records, Space Shanty by Khan is widely celebrated as a one-off classic of the Canterbury progressive rock scene. Formed by virtuosic guitarist Steve Hillage alongside bassist Nick Greenwood, the band famously enlisted keyboardist Dave Stewart (of Egg) to craft a highly technical, dynamically rich sound. Though the band dissolved shortly after its release when Hillage joined Gong, the album remains a premier milestone of early 1970s British progressive music.
