Art | Supernatural Fairy Tales | Album
Regular price
Released in November 1967 on Island Records, Supernatural Fairy Tales is the sole studio album by the British band Art. The group, previously known as The V.I.P.s, evolved into the more famous Spooky Tooth shortly after this release. The album is a multifaceted "cauldron" of psychedelic rock, acid rock, and early hard rock. Critics often describe it as a transition from 1960s soul-rock toward proto-progressive and proto-metal sounds.
The art for Supernatural Fairy Tales was created by famed London based duo Michael English and Nigel Weymouth, otherwise known as Hashash & The Coloured Coat. They were responsible for designing many of the most famous psychedelic rock concert posters of the 1960's for venues such as the UFO Club and the Fillmore, plus the artists Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Soft Machine etc.
