Fleetwood Mac | Kiln House | Album

Released in September 1970, Kiln House is widely regarded as a pivotal "transitional" album for Fleetwood Mac. It was their first release following the departure of founding leader Peter Green and the last to feature guitarist Jeremy Spencer. Critics generally view the album as a departure from the band’s heavy British blues roots in favour of a lighter, more eclectic mix of 1950s rock-and-roll homages and melodic pop-rock. The album is split between Jeremy Spencer’s retro 1950s rockabilly pastiches (like "This Is the Rock" and "Buddy’s Song") and Danny Kirwan’s more modern, melodic, and occasionally hard-rocking contributions.

Fleetwood Mac's 4th album Kiln House from 1970 was their first after the departure of Peter Green. It was also the first to feature Christine McVie who drew the charming cover image which was based on an old oast house in Truncheaunts Lane near Alton in Hampshire.
