Big Brother & The Holding Company’s 1968 masterpiece, Cheap Thrills, is widely regarded as one of the definitive albums of the 1960s counterculture and the peak of San Francisco’s psychedelic blues-rock scene. It served as the major-label debut and final recording for lead singer Janis Joplin before she transitioned to a solo career. Ranked #372 on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time (2020) and inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2007.
Janis Joplin's 2nd album with Big Brother & the Holding Company Cheap Thrills was released in 1967 and featured a cartoon cover image created by cult artist Robert Crumb commissioned by Janis herself.
