Alice in Chains' 1994 release, Jar of Flies, is a masterpiece of acoustic rock and grunge history. Written and recorded in just one week after the band returned from touring for Dirt, the EP serves as a hauntingly beautiful, introspective exploration of isolation, addiction, and grief. It holds a legendary place in music history as the first EP ever to debut at number one on the Billboard 200 chart.
