Mr Gasser & the Weirdos | Rods 'n' Rat Finks | Album

Rods 'n' Rat Finks by Mr. Gasser & the Weirdos is a delightfully unhinged relic of 1960s California car culture, serving as the second installment in the legendary hot rod trilogy conceptualised by Kustom Kulture icon Ed "Big Daddy" Roth. Originally released by Capitol Records in April 1964, the album functions less like a serious musical project and more like a high-octane novelty party. It bridges the gap between surf rock, garage rock, and outright cartoon parody. While contemporary collectors value it mostly for its iconic, screaming-technicolor artwork, the sonic architecture underneath the monster voiceovers is shockingly pristine.

The cover art is by Ed "Big Daddy" Roth, master illustrator and drag race enthusiast, creator of the iconic "Ratfink" character.
