Bohren & der Club of Gore is a German ambient/jazz band formed 1992 in Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany by Thorsten Benning (drums), Morten Gass (keyboards, guitar), Robin Rodenberg (double bass) and Christoph Clöser (saxophone). The members originally played in a hardcore metal band but refined their style to cross-over ambient jazz with gothic influences. The albums Sunset Mission (2000), Black Earth (2002) and Bohren for Beginners (Compiltion) are superb. Other standouts include Gore Motel, Midnight Radio and Dolores.
