LP (NEW) - Vinyl, Fat Possum Records, US, 2000, 80332-1, 045778033218, Reissue

Wish I Was in Heaven Sitting Down by R.L. Burnside is a powerful, deeply melancholic Electric Blues fusion album released on October 24, 2000 through Fat Possum Records. Serving as the follow-up to his groundbreaking, sample-heavy 1998 breakthrough Come On In, this record captures the Mississippi Hill Country bluesman at 73 years old, grappling with failing health and severe personal tragedy. Notably, due to his physical decline, Burnside only contributes vocals to the record, leaving the guitar work to his adopted son Kenny Brown and various session musicians.
