The Birthday Party "Junkyard"

LP (NEW) - Vinyl, Liberation Music, Australia, 2016, LMLP0258, 180g Vinyl, Limited Edition Incl. Bonus 7" Single "Release the Bats" / "Blast Off"

The Birthday Party’s Junkyard (1982) is a scuzzy masterpiece of post-punk, noise rock, and mutated punk-blues. Released via 4AD, it stands as the final full-length testament to the band’s volatile five-piece lineup, capturing a group actively dismantling traditional rock ‘n’ roll structure in a hail of feedback, trebly guitars, and Gothic grime.

The illustration for the cover of Junkyard was created by American graphic artist Ed Roth. Famous for his "Ratfink" designs and "Yellow Fang" dragster, Roth's iconic images typified the image of late sixties garage-rock culture.
