Yardbirds | Having a Rave Up With The Yardbirds | Album

Released in November 1965 by Epic Records, Having a Rave Up with The Yardbirds stands as one of the most vital, schizophrenic artifacts of the British Invasion. Nominally a hodgepodge compilation patched together for the American market, the LP serves as a stunning audio documentary of a band in deep stylistic transition. By split-packaging a cutting-edge studio side with a live rhythm-and-blues side, it captures the exact moment British rock mutated from traditional blues purism into a loud, distorted, and psychedelic future.
