Asteroid Ekosystem is the 2020 debut double album from the eponymous Australian quartet featuring the Alister Spence Trio (pianist Alister Spence, bassist Lloyd Swanton, and drummer Toby Hall) and guitarist Ed Kuepper. Reviews describe the album as a "glorious" and "phenomenal" collision of rock and jazz. It was shortlisted for Jazz Work of the Year at the 2021 APRA/AMCOS Art Music Awards. Critics often struggle to pin it down, with Jazzwise comparing it to a 1969 experimental Pink Floyd colliding with a "muscular" Bill Evans Trio.
