Andwella’s Dream’s 1969 debut, Love and Poetry, is a revered "buried treasure" of the late psychedelic era. Often cited as one of the best records in the genre, it is highly sought after by collectors, with original pressings fetching upwards of $1,000. The album is a remarkably diverse blend of styles, entirely composed by frontman Dave Lewis when he was just 17 or 18 years old. Critics note a wide range of influences, including: Psychedelic Rock: The tracks feature "acid guitar crescendos" and Hendrix-style heavy riffing. Folk and Pop: Melodic awareness and "Byrds-styled folk-rock" are present throughout. Proto-Prog: The use of organ and flute gives the record a Procol Harum-esque or early King Crimson feel.
