Bernard Fevre | The Strange World of Bernard Fèvre | Album
Bernard Fèvre’s The Strange World of Bernard Fèvre (1975) is a seminal work of French library music that sounds remarkably ahead of its time. Originally released on the legendary L'Illustration Musicale label, the album serves as a bridge between experimental electronic soundscapes and the "space-disco" Fèvre would later pioneer under his Black Devil Disco Club moniker. The album is characterized by its quirky, cosmic, and often ominous electronic arrangements. Fèvre primarily utilised a Moog synthesizer, a clavinet, and a basic drum machine to create a "granular" and "saturated" sound palette. Fèvre has stated that he aimed to create music reminiscent of Salvador Dalí's surrealist paintings.
