Billy Thorpe & The Aztecs | Billy Thorpe & The Aztecs | Album

The eponymous 1965 debut studio album, Billy Thorpe & The Aztecs, is a landmark artifact of early Australian pop and beat-rock. Capturing the band at the height of their initial mid-1960s mania, this release serves as an excellent snapshot of the era's frantic energy, even if it stands in stark, clean-cut contrast to the blistering, heavy pub-boogie and blues-rock savior that front-man Billy Thorpe would famously transform into during the 1970s.
