Sinsemilla is the third album by the Jamaican reggae band Black Uhuru, released internationally in July 1980 on the Island Records subsidiary Mango. It is considered a classic reggae album that helped the band achieve a global fanbase. The album features the classic lineup of Derrick "Duckie" Simpson, Michael Rose (lead vocals and primary songwriter), and Sandra "Puma" Jones, backed by the innovative rhythm section of Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare. The album is noted for its fusion of traditional roots reggae with a progressive, stripped-down sound, a result of the distinctive production by Sly and Robbie.
