Released on January 17, 1974, Planet Waves is Bob Dylan’s 14th studio album and holds a unique place in his discography as his only studio collaboration with The Band. While often overshadowed by the masterpiece that followed (Blood on the Tracks), it was a significant commercial success, becoming Dylan's first #1 album on the US Billboard charts. Modern and contemporary reviews generally view the album as a "relaxed," "intimate," and "underappreciated" gem.
