Chicago "Chicago"

LP (NEW) - Vinyl, Rhino Records, US, 2017, R1 558549, 081227941482, 2xLP, 180g Vinyl, Remastered, Remixed by Steven Wilson, Gatefold Sleeve

Released on January 26, 1970, Chicago II (originally self-titled as simply Chicago) is the commercial breakthrough and a high-water mark of early jazz-rock and progressive pop. Arriving less than a year after their debut, the band was forced to drop the "Transit Authority" extension after legal threats. Despite the rush, they delivered an extraordinarily ambitious double-LP masterpiece. It seamlessly fused classical composition arrangements, aggressive rock instrumentation, and radio-friendly hooks.
