Chicken Shack's 1972 release, Imagination Lady, marks a dramatic sonic shift for the band, ditching their traditional British blues roots for a heavy, over-amplified power trio sound reminiscent of Cream and early Led Zeppelin. Driven by frontman Stan Webb's ferocious guitar work, the album features a raw blend of blues-rock, hard rock, and heavy psychedelia that polarises blues purist listeners due to its unpolished execution.
