Daryl Braithwaite's 1988 multi-platinum release, Edge, stands as one of the definitive Australian pop-rock comebacks of its era. Mirroring the trajectory of John Farnham’s Whispering Jack a couple of years prior, the album bridged the gap between Braithwaite's 1970s Sherbet fan base and a completely new generation of listeners. Recorded between April and September 1988 and released on the CBS Label, Edge would eventually reach Number 1 on the ARIA Charts and go on to become the highest-selling Sony Music Australia CD in domestic history at the time.
