Death and the Maiden "Wisteria"
LP (NEW) - Vinyl, Fishrider Records, New Zealand, 2018, FISH022LP, 9420058710095, First Issue
Wisteria, the standout second album by Ōtepoti/Dunedin, New Zealand trio Death and the Maiden, is a captivating blend of everyday post-punk euphoria and shadowy, melancholic synth-wave. Released via Fishrider Records, the album masterfully explores the crushing weight and excruciating beauty of life, taking its name not from the famous play, but from an Edvard Munch painting exploring themes of love, life, and decay.
