Elvis Presley "Elvis Presley"

LP (NEW) - Vinyl, RCA Sony, Europe, 2015, 0194397971514, 180g White Vinyl, Reissue, Incl. Digital Download

Released on March 13, 1956, by RCA Victor, Elvis Presley stands as one of the most explosive and culturally transformative debut albums in music history. As the first rock and roll album ever to top the Billboard charts and the first to cross the million-selling milestone for the genre, this 28-minute self-titled record proved that rock and roll was a permanent cultural movement rather than a fleeting teenage craze. Critics widely consider it a perfect introduction to Presley’s kinetic energy and genre-blurring vocal mastery before his post-Army commercial shift.

The album featured an iconic cover image of Elvis with large Pink and Green lettering. The design was later copied by The Clash on their 1979 album London Calling in homage to Elvis.
