Elysian Fields | Queen of the Meadow | Album

Elysian Fields’ second full-length album, Queen of the Meadow (2000), is widely praised as a dark, seductive, and atmospheric masterpiece of dream pop and slowcore. Released on 14 November 2000 through Jetset Records (and Flower Shop Recordings in Europe), the record arrived four years after their debut, Bleed Your Cedar, following a turbulent period where they were dropped by Radioactive Records. Critics and fans agree that being freed from major-label constraints allowed the Brooklyn duo—vocalist Jennifer Charles and guitarist Oren Bloedow—to lean heavily into an uncompromisingly idiosyncratic, nocturnal soundscape.
