Gilberto Gil's self-titled 1969 album (frequently referred to as Cérebro Eletrônico) is a masterpiece of the Tropicália movement, seamlessly blending traditional Brazilian rhythms with avant-garde psychedelic rock and electronic experimentation. Recorded under highly turbulent circumstances-with Gil under house arrest by Brazil's military dictatorship-the album stands as an act of defiant political artistry and musical transformation.
