Released in September 1973 on Polydor Records, A Song for Tooley is the sole full-length studio album by Adelaide progressive blues-rock outfit Headband. The album serves as an fascinating time capsule of Australia's early 1970s pub and progressive rock boom. Formed by future icons like bass player Chris Bailey (later of The Angels) and singer-songwriter/keyboardist Peter Head, the band delivered an incredibly ambitious, if occasionally unfocused, sonic statement that peaked in the national Top 50.
