Jan & Dean | Save for a Rainy Day | Album
Save for a Rainy Day is a 1966 concept album by Jan & Dean that features rain-related songs linked together with thunderstorm sound effects. It was primarily a solo effort by Dean Torrence while Jan Berry was incapacitated after a near-fatal car accident. The album was originally released in November 1966 in limited quantities on the duo's own J&D label after Columbia Records declined to issue it. It is described as a sunshine pop, baroque pop, or psychedelic pop album, recorded in bassist Joe Osborn's North Hollywood garage with the help of session musicians, including members of Phil Spector's Wrecking Crew.
