Released in June 1999, Messenger is a late-career work by Indigenous Australian singer Jimmy Little that effortlessly bridges the gap between classic easy-listening crooning and contemporary alternative rock. The album was conceived and produced by Brendan Gallagher of the band Karma County, who stripped back 11 iconic Australian indie, rock, and post-punk anthems to let Little’s velvety vocals take centre stage.
