John Carpenter | Prince of Darkness (Soundtrack) | Album

John Carpenter’s soundtrack for Prince of Darkness (1987), composed in collaboration with Alan Howarth, is widely regarded as one of the most foreboding and atmospheric scores of his career. Unlike his earlier melodic work, this album focuses on sustained pulses, dense textures, and choral effects to evoke "cosmic dread." This was Carpenter’s first score composed using MIDI technology, allowing him to layer multiple synths for a much "fuller," more complex sound compared to his earlier minimalist work.
