Ogum Xangô (commonly titled Gil e Jorge) is a 1975 collaborative double-album masterpiece by Brazilian icons Jorge Ben and Gilberto Gil. Named after two powerful Afro-Brazilian Candomblé deities—Ogum (the warrior god of iron, tied to Jorge Ben) and Xangô (the god of thunder and justice, tied to Gilberto Gil)—the record captures a legendary, raw, and largely unedited jam session. Standing at number 60 on Rolling Stone Brasil’s 100 Greatest Brazilian Albums of All Time, it remains a monument of Música Popular Brasileira (MPB).
