Lalleshwari's Lullabies in a Glass Wilderness is a hauntingly intimate work of avant-garde lo-fi atmosphere. Released in 2005, this solo project by Katie Jane Garside (celebrated frontwoman of English punk bands Daisy Chainsaw and Queenadreena) strips away the ferocious noise of her previous bands. Instead, she replaces it with a fragile, deeply unsettling blend of avant-folk, minimal synth, and hypnagogic pop recorded almost entirely on a 4-track recorder.
